Brazil: America's First Cover.
The first stamps of the American Continent were issued by Brazil in August 1843. The set consisted of a 30 reis, 60 reis and a 90 reis. Their appearance caused them to be named "The Bulls' Eyes". This is only cover known which bears the complete set - all three stamps and they are used in the first month in August 1843 and in excellent quality. This cover thus became recognised as the most prized and valuable cover in Brazil philately. It is the very first cover in America bearing a complete set of stamps and is the most valuable cover in Latin American philately.
